Boys & Girls Clubs of America employees kicked off the holiday season by helping Club families in the Atlanta area through our annual Adopt-a-Family Campaign. BGCA employees donated more than $1,200 to help five Club families in need, and secured more than $1,700 of in-kind donations from HoneyBaked Ham, Lemon Zest, Publix and Kroger!

According to Ziggy Asfaw, director of the Brookhaven Boys & Girls Club, members of the five families were initially surprised but quickly moved to tears when presented with gift cards to Wal-Mart and Kroger. These donations helped each family purchase a full Thanksgiving dinner and holiday gifts.

BGCA staffers also organized an event for more than 150 Club members and their families at the Brookhaven Club. The memorable event included carnival activities and games, as well as prizes, music and a raffle of electronic gifts. Participants dined on a delicious buffet of eight hams and turkeys, side dishes, a variety of healthy juices, bottled water, desserts and cotton candy.
