Crest
and Oral B, trusted leaders in oral health, have partnered with Boys & Girls
Clubs of America to promote the health, fitness and recreation program Triple
Play: A Game Plan for the Mind, Body and Soul. Crest and Oral B’s funding
will enable Clubs in select markets to implement Healthy Habits, one of
the three components of Triple Play.
Developed in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services, Healthy Habits helps Club members make smart food choices,
understand appropriate portion sizes, and create fun and balanced meals. The
program’s age-appropriate activities also teach young people about the
importance of healthy bones and teeth to their overall health. Participating
Clubs will expand on the lessons of Healthy Habits using materials from
Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Cavity-Free Zone oral health education program.
Cavity-Free Zone was developed with the generous support of Procter & Gamble’s
Crest brand in 2001 in response to the U.S. Surgeon General’s report on oral
health.

In a 2007 Harris Interactive survey, 51 percent of Club alumni say they achieved a higher level of education than they thought possible because of attending their Club.
