Scott Murphy

Senior Vice President, Strategic Leadership Development

Sam UngloScott Murphy serves as Senior Vice President and leads executive development, board engagement, virtual learning technologies and executive recruitment for BGCA’s network of youth organizations. He is responsible for providing strategic leadership, direction and oversight for the development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of next generation leadership development programs that will advance the performance capabilities for over 1,100 Boys & Girls Club organizations nationwide.

An experienced human resources executive, Scott’s previous roles include Chief Talent & Human Resource Officer at Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide, as well as several senior executive roles at Turner Broadcasting, including Senior Vice President, Talent Management. As a supporter of the performing arts, Scott is an advisory board member for the Atlanta-based Theatrical Outfit. Additionally, he is a long-time advocate for diversity and inclusion and has led those efforts at his previous two organizations. He also serves as an advisory board member for The Human Development Company.

Scott holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Southern Illinois University and has done graduate level HR work at Georgia State University. He is an executive coach, a certified mediator and has participated in numerous HR forums, as well as Harvard Business School’s week-long executive “MBA” program.
