The Hershey Company

Since 2018, Boys & Girls Clubs of America has been proud to partner with The Hershey Company. Since its founding more than 125 years ago, The Hershey Company has had an enduring commitment to helping young people thrive. Today, Hershey is helping kids and teens, along with their parents and teachers, build more meaningful connections and create kinder, more inclusive and empathetic communities. Because when kids feel more connected to one another, caring adults, and their communities, they experience more positive well-being outcomes.

Amplifying Youth Voice

The Hershey Company is proud to support BGCA’s Think, Learn, Create Change (TLC) model that puts youth at the center of their own advocacy experiences and supports their ongoing, active engagement as changemakers in their communities. Through the TLC model, young people create local advocacy projects working alongside Club leaders, fellow members and issue-area experts in their community. At the completion of the TLC training, Club youth and their advisors have the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C to participate in BGCA’s Summit for America’s Youth. Club youth from across the country travel to our nation’s capital, hear from inspirational leaders and explore careers in government and public service. In addition, Club youth are given the opportunity to not only showcase their local advocacy projects to their fellow youth advocates, but also put all they learned through TLC into practice on Capitol Hill. In 2023, employees of The Hershey Company participated in the “So, You Want to Work in Public Service” panel where teens were exposed to the diverse opportunities that exist in government relations careers and in the career mentor session.

Impact on Kids

Through partnering with Samsung, we expanded access to the DIY STEM program and developed the Climate Superstars Challenge. The DIY STEM program serves as the entry-point for all members' STEM learning experience at Clubs and provides youth exposure to STEM through five modules: Energy and Electricity, Engineering Design, Food Chemistry, Aeronautics and the Science of Sports: Football. Climate Superstars aims to encourage youth to raise awareness about climate change and motivate them to take actions that help protect the environment.

Samsung's partnership enables interactive, hands-on learning while providing students with new perspectives on STEM careers and access to the latest technology. In addition, our partnership with Samsung goes beyond our programs and includes cause marketing initiatives that help promote awareness and drive donations for the organization. Through exclusive access to unique experiences such as the Las Vegas Galaxy Studio pop-up with singer Kelly Rowland and music producer and artist DJ Marshmello and a Winter Wonderland video production featuring YouTube star Casey Neistat, Samsung helps expand their understanding of STEM and encourages them to be the next generation of creators and innovators.
