Since 2021, Navient has supported Boys & Girls Clubs of America in building great futures for young people nationwide. Future Readiness
In the first year of the partnership, Navient teamed up with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, using their knowledge and expertise in post-secondary education exploration and financial readiness, to develop a one-of-a-kind digital resource for young people in Clubs across the country. Made available in late 2021, the resource is a part of BGCA’s Diplomas to Degrees curriculum and features six interactive activities to assist young people in preparing to pay for college. The data-driven curriculum includes activities for teens to learn about college costs, understand financial aid, complete the FAFSA, learn how to find scholarships and understand student loans. The program also helps Club members identify trusted adults who can guide them through their journey, including discussion guides and parent handouts.
After completing the Diplomas to Degrees: Planning & Paying for College activities, a majority of Club members reported understanding how financial aid works, how to access the options available to them and how they can reduce their post-secondary education cost—a significant increase compared to their understanding prior to the completing the program.
Navient remains the sponsor and primary supporter of these Planning & Paying for College activities, available to Club kids everywhere through BGCA’s My Future platform.
Community & Commitment
Navient has a deep commitment to giving back, and so does its team. Through Navient’s Elevate program, employees are encouraged to use paid time to volunteer in their communities where it is needed the most, including at Boys & Girls Clubs across the country.
