Colette and Larry Young have been actively involved with Boys & Girls Clubs of America for many years. Larry, a Club alum and retired CEO of Dr Pepper Snapple who now serves on the Keurig Dr Pepper board of directors, was indispensable to the 2015 launch of the Boys & Girls Clubs Alumni and Friends group.
Collette, his wife, is also a longtime supporter of and a trustee for Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Recently, she played an integral role facilitating a new community partnership among Texas A&M University (Commerce campus), the Commerce Independent School District and the Boys & Girls Club of Northeast Texas. The new alliance supports after-school programs at local schools, including $65,000 in annual funding to hire Boys & Girls Club staff. The agreement also offers Texas A&M work-study students in appropriate fields to gain experiences as mentors to Club youth.
The support Colette and Larry provide Boys & Girls Clubs continues to make a positive impact on young people everywhere. To learn how you can support a Boys & Girls Club and advocate for the youth of your community, go to bgca.org/get-involved now.
